Project Gross Profit
Each project’s gross profit computed from documents: sales invoices less sales returns, then less purchase invoices net of purchase returns - not from the general ledger. Provided for tenants that do not use the accounting package.
Questions It Answers
- How much has been billed and how much spent on this project according to its documents?
- Which project has purchases already exceeding its sales?
- What is the rough gross profit of a project without setting up a general ledger?

This is gross profit, not an income statement. It ignores operating expenses, tax, depreciation, and material purchased but not yet consumed. For a real income statement use the Project Income Statement.
Why The Numbers May Differ
- It differs from the Project Income Statement, and that is expected. This one sums document values; that one reads the general ledger and follows period closing, approval, and cost recognition rules.
- Purchases here include material not yet used, so a project that has just started looks deeply red. That is the nature of the report, not a real loss.
- A return saved without a Project deducts nothing. A return does not inherit the project from the invoice it reverses - choose the project on the return screen, or the gross profit stays overstated.
- Goods receipts not yet invoiced are not included - what counts are purchase invoices.
- A project with no documents carrying it shows zero across all columns.
